We’re currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer / Manager  to join our extraordinary team.

Do you enjoy engineering and scientific principles, and implementing them in real life?

Have you designed, executed, and analyzed pilot and commercial scale engineering projects?

Have you worked in collaboration with a cross-functional team to deliver projects and programs?

Do you have experience with food, pharma or biotech manufacturing processes on pilot and commercial scale?

The Role:

The Senior Project Engineer is an experienced engineer or related occupation that is responsible for managing engineering projects and programs from concept to completion. This candidate will leverage project engineering principles to facilitate collaboration with the technical team and ensure project deliverables are met. This position will be in the SF/Bay Area and requires candidates to live in commutable distance to our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from concept to completion in a timely manner
  • Develop capital proposals for management review and approval through commissioning
  • Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation such as scope of work (SOW), user requirement specifications (URS), equipment specifications, etc.
  • Facilitate preparation, review, and approval of project documentation such as P&IDs, PFDs, elevation drawings, BIMs, site plans, etc.
  • Coordinate expediting and receiving equipment and material deliveries to the job siteCollaborate with the Process Engineering team to perform selection of contractors/vendors, and supervise them during implementation.
  • Ensure commissioning readiness by performing factory acceptance testing (FAT), on-site equipment receiving and review
  • Assist with commissioning activities and facilitate field fitting where necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or related) or Life Sciences
  • 5+ years of experience in the food, pharma, or biotechnology manufacturing industry
  • 3+ years managing and delivering engineering projects in relevant industries
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and executing projects from concept to completion
  • Prior food GMP experience in food or biotech
  • Experience commissioning pilot or commercial scale equipment
  • Background in food processing to include sanitary factory/process design

Skills & Qualities:

  • Brings expertise in development of project schedules, cost estimates, PFD's, P&ID's, site and elevation drawings, and utilities requirements
  • Able to translate a project scope into a work breakdown structure

Salary range for this position: $119,000 - $161,000
