Research Assistant

The Opportunity:

  • Do you have laboratory experience working with mammalian cells?
  • Are you motivated by working with a small multidisciplinary team using animal stem cells to create food products without harming animals?

Your duties will include:

Culture of animal cells including pluripotent stem cells.Development and optimisation of differentiation protocolsCharacterisation techniquesUndertaking regular reviews of relevant literature and patents.
Producing high quality scientific reports suitable for investor reports and patent applications.Some weekend work required and flexibility to handle ad hoc requests in an exciting start-up environment

To be considered you will need:

At least 6 months laboratory experience in a relevant discipline area.Demonstrated experience in molecular biology, cell culture methods and microscopy.Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in a rapidly evolving scientific environment.The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, plus the motivation and discipline to carry out autonomous research.High level written and oral communication skills.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Australian/New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents or Australian temporary residents currently residing in Australia and be able to commence in the role by August 2022.
